What Digback does

How do links get into Digback?

You bring them in from files the apps let you download, or you save them one at a time. Digback never logs in to Reddit, WhatsApp or Instagram for you.

Before anything is saved, Digback shows how many links it found and a few real lines from your file. Nothing is imported until you confirm. Files can be up to 64 MB.

The same link saved in two places becomes one pin with both sources on it. Tracking bits like utm_source and igshid are removed first, so two copies of one link still match. The earliest saved date wins.

What does Digback do with each link?

It reads the page in the background and fills in the pin for you:

• the title and the main image
• a short description
• tags, from the kind of page, the site, the subreddit or channel, and the title
• the kind of page: article, video, image, post, thread, tool, product, repo, docs or other
• up to 6000 characters of the page text, so search can find words that are not in the title
• for articles, a clean reading copy of the text, with headings, lists and quotes kept
• a screenshot of the page when it has no picture of its own, taken on the Digback server

Some sites get special handling. Reddit posts are read through Reddit’s own data, or through the post card Reddit shows to other websites when it refuses a server. YouTube, Vimeo and X links use their embed data. GitHub links get the owner and repo. Pages that show a robot check or a login wall get no screenshot.

On digback.com an AI service can also write a two line summary and better tags. It never replaces a title, description or tag that you wrote yourself.

Instagram is the exception. Instagram does not let outside apps read a post, so Digback shows the real post in an embed and asks you for a one line note. The Instagram page explains this.

How does search work?

You type what you remember, in your own words. Digback looks for matching words and for matching meaning at the same time, then mixes the two lists.

• The meaning part uses a small model called all-MiniLM-L6-v2 that runs on the Digback server. Your searches do not go to an outside AI service.
• Each result says why it matched: the title, a tag, the page text or the meaning.
• You can narrow a search with filters like from:reddit, type:video, tag:design, site:github.com, before:2024 or after:2023.

Ask goes one step further. You ask a question, an AI service answers it from your 12 closest pins, and the pins it used are listed under the answer.

Can I read pages inside Digback?

Yes. A pin with an article of 80 words or more gets Read here: the article as clean text, with headings, lists, quotes and code kept, and how many minutes it takes to read. Pick a text size.

Read aloud reads it to you with your browser’s own voice, a paragraph at a time, with the paragraph lit. Pause, skip back or ahead, and change the speed. It works in Chrome, Edge and Safari.

The reading copy holds up to 120,000 characters of a page. It is the text only, not the page’s images and layout.

Can Digback remind me about a pin?

Yes. On any pin, press Remind me and pick Later today, This evening, Tomorrow morning, This weekend, Next week, or any date and time up to a year ahead. When it is due, the pin shows under Reminders on your home page until you open it or press Done.

How do I keep the board tidy?

• Boards. Put a pin on as many boards as you like, or none.
• Smart boards. A board made from a search, like tag:design from:reddit. It fills itself and keeps up with new pins.
• Inbox. Pins that still need a note, like Instagram ones, wait here.
• Dead links. Digback checks each link about once a week and marks the dead ones, so you can filter them out.
• Trash. A deleted pin waits 30 days, then goes for good.

How does Digback help me find old saves?

• More like this. Under every pin, other pins on the same subject.
• On this day. Pins you saved on this date in earlier years.
• Rediscover. Five old pins you have not opened in a while.

Does it work with Claude?

Yes. Digback has an MCP server, so Claude can search your board, read a pin, write descriptions and tags, and save new links. Setup takes a token from Settings and one line in your app. The in app setup screen also covers ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Zed, Gemini CLI and Codex CLI. The MCP page has the steps.

Can I take my data with me?

Yes, any time, from Settings, Data:

• JSON with every pin and its details
• CSV that opens in Excel or Google Sheets
• Bookmarks HTML that any browser can import

Deleting your account removes it and everything in it straight away. There is no waiting period.

What Digback does not do yet

Honest list, so you do not sign up for something that is not there:

• No browser extension. There is a bookmarklet.
• No apps in the Play Store or App Store yet. On Android and iPhone you install Digback from the browser.
• No highlights or notes inside a page, and no full archive of pages with their images and layout.
• No shared boards or teams. One person per account.
• No direct connection to WhatsApp or Instagram. Everything comes in through files you download yourself.
• New accounts on digback.com are paused while payments are set up.
