Your saved Instagram posts and reels, in one place
Digback takes the saved posts and reels from your Instagram data export and turns each one into a pin. Your collections become boards with the same names. Instagram does not let outside apps read a post, so Digback shows the post itself and asks you for a one line note. That note is what makes it searchable.
How do Instagram saves get into Digback?
Through Instagram’s Download your information feature. It is one menu deep, and one setting catches people out: ask for JSON, not HTML.
- Open Instagram and go to Settings and privacy.
- Open Accounts Centre, then Your information and permissions.
- Tap Download your information, then Download or transfer information.
- Pick your account, then Some of your information.
- Tick Saved.
- Choose Download to device.
- Set Format to JSON and Date range to All time.
- Instagram emails you a zip, usually within a day.
- In Digback, open Import, pick the Instagram tile and drop the zip in.
Digback reads saved_posts.json and saved_collections.json from the zip. Instagram menus move around, so if a name here does not match, look for the closest one.
What does an Instagram pin look like?
Each saved post or reel becomes one pin with:
- the title “Instagram post”, or “Instagram reel by” and the account name when the link has it
- the date you saved it, from the export
- the real post, shown in an embed from Instagram
- your collection, as a board
What it does not have is the caption or the picture. Instagram does not give those to outside apps, so Digback cannot read them. These pins land in the Inbox. The triage screen walks you through them one by one, with the post right there, and asks for one line about each. “Dal recipe with no onion.” “Hill station near Pune.” That line is what you will search for later.
How does search work on Instagram saves?
Search reads your note, the title and the tags, by words and by meaning at the same time. So a note like “cheap flights trick” can turn up for a search like “save money on air tickets”.
To look only at Instagram saves, add from:instagram to the search. Add type:video to see only reels.
Is the note worth the effort?
For the posts you care about, yes. Five seconds a post is what turns a pile of saved reels into something you can search. You do not have to do them all at once. The Inbox keeps the rest until you are ready, and they still show up when you browse a board.
